Welcome to Denkaiwa. By using our app, you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Denkaiwa ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Denkaiwa is a Japanese language learning application that provides:

• Conversation practice scenarios
• Speech recognition for speaking practice
• Progress tracking and spaced repetition
• Both free and paid subscription tiers

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information
• Keep your password secure and confidential
• Notify us immediately of unauthorized access
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

4. Subscription & Payments

Free Tier: Access to 20 curated scenarios at no cost.

Paid Subscriptions:

• Monthly: $7.99 USD per month
• Yearly: $59.99 USD per year

Subscriptions are processed through Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment terms are governed by their respective policies.

Cancellation: You may cancel anytime through your device's subscription settings. Access continues until the end of your billing period.

Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google according to their policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

• Share your account credentials with others
• Attempt to reverse engineer or copy the App
• Use the App for any illegal purpose
• Distribute or republish App content without permission
• Attempt to bypass subscription restrictions
• Use automated tools to access the service

6. Intellectual Property

All content in the App, including scenarios, characters, audio, and design, is owned by Denkaiwa or its licensors. You may not:

• Copy, modify, or distribute our content
• Use our trademarks without permission
• Create derivative works based on our content

Your learning progress data remains yours. You may export it at any time.

7. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee:

• Uninterrupted or error-free service
• Specific learning outcomes or fluency levels
• Accuracy of speech recognition (depends on device capabilities)
• Compatibility with all devices

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Denkaiwa shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Changes to Service

We reserve the right to:

• Modify or discontinue features
• Update pricing (with notice)
• Add or remove content

We will provide reasonable notice of significant changes.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time through the App settings or by contacting support.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Singapore.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
